Rolo’s retreat was our horse lorry for Rolo, our thoroughbred cross eventer who has now retired to Suffolk. The lorry was transformed in 2018 to the accommodation it is now. Offering a tranquil getaway in a quiet setting with fabulous views over endless countryside.
Rolo’s Retreat is situated in its own field near the milking parlour. In the corner of the field you have the opportunity to use the outside shower, a must in hot weather! Outside the lorry is a fire pit where you can cook your breakfast or dinner and sit on the bench to enjoy your food along with a glass of wine. With the french doors open, you can experience the beautiful Pembrokeshire sunsets by sitting on the horse ramp and soaking up the peace that it makes you feel.
Rolo’s Retreat has one double bed above the cab and a comfortable sofa bed in the sitting area. There is a bespoke kitchen with a sink and a gas hob opposite a wooden table with enough seating for 4 people. There is plenty of hanging and storage space.
The bathroom facilities are a short walk away in the milking parlour. There is a large walk in shower with plenty of hot water and 2 separate toilets. An outside sink also with hot running water can be used for large amounts of washing up. A large kitchen/dining area has a dart board and large table along with a fridge and freezer for your own use.
Rolo’s Retreat when hired is exclusively yours, only extra friends and family that you may invite to share your holiday by using our camping field will share these facilities.
Rolo’s Retreat transformation
The conversion took 9 months to complete before we were able to drive it into position in the field.
